The Haynes manual says they are. The torque for the cam sproket is 90ft lbs I believe.

So basically I have to call a local machine shop and ask if they can make me a new cam dowl pin? And I'm guessing I have to completely redo my timing?

well I think I am going to have to because the the dowl pin on the cam popped out of the sprocket after it "broke" and started grinding. Which means my timing is off and I probably just F-ed up the whole side of my engine

was the sprocket off the cam when you popped the VC?
well it would have had to been, the bolts held it on. brain fart.

But thats the thing. When I pulled the VC off the cam was still attached via bolt but the dowl pin wasn't in the slot.. I know for a fact that I put it in that slot.

well even if you torqued it to like 60lbs or something that dowl would still be in the slot. somehow worked loose. no clue man.
