ummm...guess a guess here, but aren't most cases nowadays chain drive? Sounds to me like a chain snap.

does the same thing, only i cant turn real sharp. it goes in and out of 4wd, just a vibration. it has seemed to diminish a little. i made sure a re torqued all the bolt and that there is grease un the ujoints. i wonder if i am feeling the differance in having a u joint instesd of a cv joint.

did you have the new shaft balanced before you put it in? cause just like tires, driveshafts need to be balance or they are going to vibrate at all speeds and mainly when there is power being applied. some of my friends think it is funny to mess with each other and take those stick on tape weights you use to balance tires with and stick a few strips on each others drive shafts. when you do that it obviously throws out the balance of the shaft and it is going to vibrate like a son of a bitch, and you are going to feel it at all speeds. i would start with getting the shaft balanced first, then see where to go from there

Never thought of the stick on weights. I used to use the HD zip ties and put like 6 of them on the driveshaft
