Default awd driveshaft question

have an 02 4.7 AWD and the cv joint on my front driveshaft **** the bed and now makes a clicking noise whenever i drive. i highly doubt i would be able to find one of these driveshafts in a junk yard, so i was wondering if a driveshaft from a truck with selectable 4wd (2hi/4hi/4lo) will work, or are they completely different?

It would probably be a smidge off since it's a different transfer case. Maybe you could just get the CV joint swapped? I'm not educated on the front shafts.

neither am i, but dodge f'ed up when they put the cv there considering the other side of the front driveshaft and both ends of the rear drive shaft have u-joints. anybody know how much it would cost to rebuild a cv joint? or put a new one in? i honestly want to do it as cheap as possible since i am not going to have the truck for very long (getting an 01 cummins) so i would rather not spend 250-350 bucks on a new driveshaft

If you put the T-case in 4hi you can drive around with no front driveshaft FWIW.
