efan mod question
When i did my thermostat, I found out that I do indeed have an electric fin in front of the clutch fan. I didn't know that.
ok, question: how are the taurus fan/HHR fan wired? I'd like it to be like this:
ignition-on energizes relay 1
relay 2 defaults to the low speed wire of the fan
wire from dash switch energizes relay 2, which flips relay 2 from low speed to high speed
That way the low speed of the fan will be on anytime the ignition is on, and I can use my dash switch to flip it to high speed. And it'll still shut down when I turn the ignition off.
I assume I could just pull the fuse for the factory electric fan and cap those wires off?

I dont venture to the other forums much
SPAL's website says right on it, not to use with taurus fans. Does the HHR not pull as much amperage? Not to mention the $165 price tag

$165?! I know it's worth it, but when you're on a budget....?!
This is more like it: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...er=326161_0_0_

thats what my first idea was. it comes on low with ignition, and high with rocker switch. Already have the #2 relay set up, just need to add the #10 power wire from batt to relay, and the two #12's coming out for the high/low speed. And relay #1 for ign control

I cant see spending 200.00 on a controler when I can get a 3.00 toggle and just make sure my temp gauge stays where it needs to be. I'd rather spend the 197.00 on something else like a throttle body lol
I think a 70 amp relay will be enough for the fan? Gonna call tomorrow to see when the relays will be back in stock.
