Default HHR Fan Installed

Everyone has heard the rave of the HHR fans 3000 cfm for only 50$ so I decided to buy one and try it out. Its the exact size of the stock shroud and fits in very nicely. I will post updates on how well it performs compared to my Proform fan.

Fan Info
Part number: 15817306
OEM number: GM3115200
CFM: 3,000

Fan is hard mounted.

I used
Two M8(8mm) 1.25 X 45mm bolts.
Two 8mm Extruded U nuts.
Two small bolts with nuts/washers.

First we matched up the bolts threads form the OEM mount, marked the HHR fan and drilled holes for the extruded nuts. Then we drilled holls in the extruded nuts and mounted them to the HHR fan.

Then put the fan in place and bolted it up using the 8mm bolts going through the OEM mounts into the extruded nuts.
Here is the fan mounted.

I connected the 6.3mm connectors and heat shrunk them.

I chose a black "T" vice the clear. The connectors snap in place inside the T.

The finished product and works great.

It looks like it was made for it! How did you attach it?

Right now, with zip ties. If it performs well I will fabricate some mounts for it. The fitment it truely amazing.

What about a controller? Will and aftermarket one work or do you have to make one?

I wonder if I could use that to work on my Jeep Cherokee? I deliver the mail, and when stopping and going My A/C blows hot air, when I'm at highway speeds it cools perfectly. It is fully charged so I feel I need more air through the condenser, so I thought about replacing my clutch fan with an electric on, and this seems to fit the bill? What do you guys think?

And would I need a Controller, or could I just fab a toggle?
