Default My engine hates me

I have been having some engine trouble for the past few months and my mechanic looked everything over, and everything was ok... start it up and BANG. So Mr.Piston met Ms. Valve and they got it on... Hard... So in a nut shell my pistons are toast. He suggested that I would buy a used engine and install it as it would be cheaper than fixing up mine. Can I take any 4.7L? or does it have to be my model year? Any Help is great guys

yeah I was thinking about doing a H.O swap or trying to put in a 08 motor but I wasn't sure if that would be way over my head or not

Lightbulb engine in a crate

I dont know what you want to spend but you can get a rebuilt engine for about $3K to $4K from places.

How many miles on yours if over 160K you need a rebuilt engine everything is just old and tired redy to give it up like the valve did.

do an HO swap. if you did an 3G motor swap you will need to change tone rings.

motor swap is going to cost you about 2500-3000k. thats what i ran me. the HO is so worth it man, the power is awesome!

Wait you have the 04! you already have the 4plug pcm which is ngc, so you could do a 3g swap.
