There is no 5v connection at the fuse box, it's a 12v system.

What year?

You can use a fuse tap to get power to your adapter/converter.

its easy to build a circuit to reduce 12 v to 5 v. get a lm338, or lm317. the lm317 regulaters are easy to use. you can get a lm317 one at radio shack, BUT the diagram from r/s is not right. get a diagram off the internet. its best to use a lm388 the diagram is the same for both.
