Default serpentine belt question

I get some belt slip/noise at WOT usually at the top end of the rpm band....does this mean its time for a new belt/.

Probably. With the engine running, rev it up using the throttle linkage and look for a lot of movement in the belt tensioner. A lot of movement means the spring inside is weak and not keeping the correct tension on the belt and needs to be replaced.

Like bwdakrt said check the tensioner first if not, the belt is one of the easiest things to change on the 4.7, especially if you don't have a clutch fan. I just changed mine 2 weeks ago and got the highest grade one for like $40 bucks so its pretty cheap too.

Possibly the easiest thing I've ever done. Premium belt for 30 dollars and a 15 mm socket. Just depends on ac or no ac as far as I know for length.

Go to local store, buy both options, bring socket with. Try in lot. return inappropriate belt. Dont worry about it for another 5 years.
Issue persists, check tensioner.
I like rockauto too, but that mail-order is more of a PITA when options are involved, esp with the bad cross-referencing for Dak parts.
