Can you edit the pics, and circle the differences? (my eyes ain't so good. )
Done the best I could figure out. I tried circling them but my phone is junk so it was all screwed up. Hopefully this works. If not let me know and I'll try something else
I just added a video. Hopefully that helps

The notch I don't think matters at all. The addition 'thing' on the side is likely a provision for mounting something in other applications. Not drilled though, so, nothing to worry about. The housing difference on the rear? That's another thing I don't think matters. Need a new output seal there though. Bolt it in, hook it up, transfer the parts you need to, and see what happens.
So this morning I was reading through a few things again trying to figure out what I was going to do and I came across a couple pictures a buddy sent me. According to these pictures the one I took out of my truck is a 4wd transmission. So it actually looks like the transmission I bought is the correct transmission for my 2wd truck. Hopefully having the 4wd one in there for the last few years didn't screw anything up so that the correct transmission has issues. I've had the truck for almost three years and this is the first transmission issue. Apparently the previous owner had issues at some point and couldn't find the right transmission. Either way, the new one is going in today with a prayer or two and we'll see what happens.
Well that's interesting. Wonder why the difference..... all the internals are exactly the same.... the only real difference is the O/D housing..... The 4x4 feller has provisions for the t-case to bolt to it, the 2x version just accepts the rear driveshaft.
