Question Is my Diff in trouble or is this normal wear

Is my Diff in trouble or is this normal wear I never had the Diff oil changed till 4 years ago at the Dealer and they never said anything to me of excessive wear and I don’t know what is considered bad or normal looking when you take the cover off but I don’t like what I see.

I don’t notice anything as of now like noise coming from the rear of my truck

Is this ok?

For me that looks way too sparkly. But I'm no mechanic hopefully someone else will chime in

Default yea I think so

I think it looks kind of sparkly also

I want to change out the gears to the 3.92 my set is the 3.55 or swap out the compleat rearend to one with the disk brakes and the newer axel set the 9.25 is what its called.

That will be in a year or two when my funds grow larger

Can you clean these Diff's out with like carb cleaner or is that a bad idea?

it might be cheaper just to find an axle with the 3.92 in it rather than paying someone to do it for you. I really don't know, I don't think carb cleaner would hurt anything. But I don't wanna be the person that tells you to do something and F's it up

It is sparkly. Can you try a magnet to see if it sticks?

If it is not making any noise your good to go. My is realy loud with a lot more filings then that and its been that way for two years no worse all i do is use 100% lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer reduses wear and noise with no problem and the truck gets used like a mule lol.
