Default You gotta pay to play...

I went mud running over the weekend which was a ton of fun. I'll try to find the pics that others took... Of course the battery in my camera was dead. I broke a CV- Joint, all the ***** in my joint popped out. So the joke was that my truck lost its *****. Any idea how much one of those is gonna cost?

Did you forget to grease all your components before you went out?

When I had my Jeep I did it every time before i took it out.. and I'll be doing the same with the Dak.

Nothing is greasable on these trucks from the factory.

Which CV did you damage? The drive shaft CV or a half shaft? If it's the drive shaft at least it's an easy part to replace but you're looking at $~250. A half shaft isn't quite as expensive but a lot more labor involved. Time consuming.

I go out with my buddy in his CJ7 every now and then and every time we got out someone breaks something. Last time his hub blew apart. The time before that his fenderwall exhaust fell off... on both sides about 10 minutes apart. 3 hours or trying to get off a trail in a cj7 with a 360 and no exhaust makes for a long 3 hours.

Luckily I haven't broken anything too bad. I tore the boot on both the driveshaft cv and the half shaft cv. This is completely avoidable. I hate the stupid boots. They always tear, especially if you go offroad at all.

@ Bpark My boot tore and the ***** out of the end of it feel out, it the part that connects to the diff and at the end towards the wheel is where it broke. I pulled it out so that I could drive it home with out it rattling the whole way.

Oh, that's probably a good thing. The half shafts are a lot cheaper. I believe mine cost $65 when I replaced it two years ago. So not too expensive, just time consuming to replace. Not too bad though.

yeah I thought it was just a half shaft and thought it wasn't going to be a huge deal said most of the guys that were there, I actually was able to pull it out in the middle of the field.

Thanks! we are around the platteville area. It being a farm community we kinda all got a connection or two with some farmers that don't really care if we go through the area with our trucks.
