Heater Fan
May be time for a fan motor replacement for HVAC. Has anyone done this on a 98 dakota?
I searched the threads here but came up with the ram replacement. Involves removing the dash. Just wondering if the dakota is the same. Thanks for any tips!

Okay, what it seems like it's making a little noise now and then but it clears up. It did this once before and I attributed it to leaves or something like that where the fan resides however, I had it a little this morning and again it cleared up. Sounds a little like a dry bearing. ??? Just don't want to lose it as the cold is comming....Thanks!
Kind of figured that. I would definitely replace the heater core also if I have to take it apart. So far it's pretty quiet again so maybe I'll get by for a while. Maybe the heater core will go first and then I can replace the fan...

They are cheap so why not replace the heater core you are in there, you may as well do it you don’t want to put it all back together then next year your heater core starts leaking on you.
At least give it a good looking over same with the evap core and look at the foam seals and replace if needed that foam dies after about 10 years pulling the box out disturbs those seals just buy some quality foam at home depot that’s the same size to replace them with.
