Hey guys, well it's cold now so I figured I'd take the fan clutch off and see if it makes a difference or not. All I can say is wow. Much more responsive throttle, and a lot quieter engine. Also, exhaust sounds a bit better and deeper. Hopefully I'll see an increase in mpg a little bit too. So far, this is definitely the best free thing I've done to my Dak. I highly recommend it, literally took like 5 minutes.

I don't remember what mine was like with it on...all I know is I'm glad it's off. My girlfriend's Jeep has the same engine as my Dak...and that thing is annoying early in the morning. (The Jeep, not the girl)

Yeah it's pretty sweet. I doubt I'll see any mpg increase though, I can't seem to keep my foot out of it now haha.

Are you still running the stock efan with the new motor, thunder? I've done a lot of reading and concluded that taking the fan clutch off is totally fine as long as the stock efan is in proper working order.

yeah stock efan has done fine, its been off over a year now. putting a 180tstat helps in the summer, and with SCT pcm tell the fan to come on earlier. in kansas it gets hot in the summer thats why i have a 180tstat, if you live in a mild climate you wont need it.

That's what I figured. And yeah plus I can just throw it back on in the summer if it starts running hot. I just threw it in the back seat along with a big crescent wrench in case.

Please..... I've got an aftermarket e-fan on my full size, 4WD, 7000 pound truck. Have towed 7700 pounds in the 100 degree south Georgia heat and the needle never got close to the half way line. Not to mention the dyno shows 14 RWHP was free'd up.

Dodge also chose to put the LSD with clutch packs, non-greasable tie rods and ball joints on the front end. Need I go on???

Stock efan is more than enough for these trucks. Hell the newer grand cherokes dont even have a mechanical fan. That goes for both v6 and v8's. I've gone down to key west in a 04 grand cherokee 4.7 v8 sitting stopped on 95 with the a/c on in 100 degree weather. Im ditching mine here before long. I know when I unplugged my a/c I noticed a big difference.
