Spear-Em... you're nuthin' but a punk-*** internet troll. You have nothing to add... and nothing civil to say about anything. Some of us are into customizing.... YES... actually ALTERING the design of our vehicles from the stock configuration. What a concept! This used to be done at great expense with sheet metal, lead and hours of meticulous crafting. WAY before your pathetic self came into this world. I was doing this before you were born... before there were Jap imports... before the aftermarket industry made anything close to what's available now. Before "RICE" meant anything but Uncle Ben's. I've been drag racing off 'n on since 1959. The 'off' years spent on extended deployments or overseas assignments in the Navy... including 2 tours in 'Nam and one in Lebanon (Aviation Ordnance). Quote: The first thing I'd do is reach in the back of my truck and get my 20lb sledge, and beat the shiznit outta your Jap Crap!" That would get you seriously hurt dude. Big man on the net forums huh? I got somethin' real for people like you, tuff guy. I'm certain there are others in your locale who would share these sentiments were you to attempt that. But you won't... 'cause you're an e-thug coward. I see a lot of 'Ricer' stuff at shows... and it's over the top for me... but I can appreciate the effort. There's a lot of domestic stuff that's way over the top as well. There's little in 'Truckin' Magazine' forinstance that interests me 'cause I'm not into belly draggers or most of those paint jobs and 'bling'... 'cept for under the hood which most of those vehicles neglect to modify. However... it's their money and their ride. Quote: "Whoop-dee-doo! Just like soooo many others on this board! Ricing up their trucks and trashing the **** out of them." Trashing? Here's what you're callin' trash:

Yeah, but CUSTOMIZING is to do something different than, to make it yours. Its not yours; its someone elses idea My biggest beef is; you are doing the same thing that everyone else is doing; with the same parts. Which if you think about it; really isnt customizing. Because all you're doing is making your truck look like Joe Blow's who has the same damn kit peices. Oh you may have minor differences, but its the same concept...Its not original!

I got a simple question. What if Dodge made those bumpers stock? Would you change it? Yes you would, and why would you change it? Because stock is boring and uncool! Well to me since so many trucks have that same bumper it isnt cool anymore, its boring. Its unoriginal and its been done to death.

After seeing that one line; I knew right there you didnt get it. I didnt even read the rest of your jibberish, because it would be a waste of time! Now I hope you get it...You must be a slow learner!

Actually... two years after the fact.... Dodge DID make a version of that Stillen bumper... and the Cervini cladding (which I don't particularly like) with the Dakota Stampede package. They couldn't copy it directly, but it's close enough. I obtained that bumper facia within' a few months of them being made and announced in Mopar Muscle (2001) so I really didn't copy anybody. Same source and time frame for the tonneau. Nobody has the same combination that I do that I've ever seen (and I've looked at a lot of Dakota's). Don't presume to tell me what I would or would not do. You're totally unqualified. You wouldn't comprehend the rest of my 'jibberish, 'cause it's so far over your head you have no reference base. Your idea of modification seems to be restricted to the pages of the JC Whitney catalog. How 'cool' is that? You're apparently comfortable in your ignorance... but I know your type. No future, no past 'n the present is tenuous.

......DAMN WHAT DID I START??? hahahha

SO basically you aint cool unless you keep stock bumpers....but wait....... everyone who buys a dakota will have stock bumpers on. Hence making it even more uncool because then theres yet another person with the same looking truck. Atleast when we change it like some of us do that makes it a little bit more unique.

How many times have you seriously been driving around and seen more than one dakota with a cervinis bumper on it??? Without being at a car show or something along that line. The reason you see "soooooo many Dakota with the same damn bumper" is cuz your spending too much time on the internet, reading post about the damn bumper. If you dont like them dont read the posts or look at the pictures.

The next modified Dakota he actually sees will be his first. I take this R/T to local rod runs 'n car shows 'n it's the only Dakota 'anything' there usually. 'Lotta people have never seen an R/T, much less a modified one.

Mine? It's not glas... some kind'a polymer. Had to 'cook it' in the heat booth overnite to outgass all the impurities before painting it. That was 4 years ago.

Prob'ly the same stuff. It was a little warped when I got it... but a nite in the heat booth straightened it out. "Everybody's" got 'em now tho... Can't hardly turn a corner w/o seein' a Cervini or Stillen or Stull bumper.
There was one cover on e-Bay that made the rounds in the R/T community tho... 'had a matching rear bumper cover... not a roll pan. The rear looked like a diving platform; it was huge... 'n the bumper was... absolutely horrible. [:'(] 'Looked like somethin' from the 'Whacky Racers'. It didn't blend with the trucks lines at all. 'Hope you post pix of your when it's painted. Y'mite want'a check out customcargrilles.com for some decent grille mesh too. That Cervini stuff isn't all that good.
