Default Possibly Selling my Kota

Hello, well I have a 99 kota, 5.2 auto, 4x4, Ext Cab, Green (paint shot on hood and roof), drop in bed liner, just rolled 147k, got it used 2 years ago from a dealer and they had all fluids serviced, new battery, tune up (plugs, wires, pcv, coil) This truck was taken good care of, never hot rodded because I never got the chance to do the 408 manual swap of my dreams.

What is a price that would be good to start off with? I was thinking 6(to high?) And going from there.

This thing has been great for me but I have one major problem, towing capacity, I now have a 29' Bumper pull trailer that has a dry weight of 8500.

I am going to most likely stick mopar sort of and go buy a 99 cummins I have found local. (also 24mpg in a 3/4 ton pickup sounds awesome.)

Probably going to get 4500-5000. My buddy got that for the same truck as you.

Well, im not letting this thing go for less then 5. This truck has a trans that just seems amazing, must have alot of work on it, starting on the freeway on ramp the truck pulls like no other from 20-75. The thing I love about this truck is its gearing, 1st goes to 40, 2nd 75, 3rd and OD well no chip so its not able to get near redline in those gears if I do the math right, turning 2k in OD at 80 would mean theorical top speed of 160+??

Unfortunately if its pretty much all stock your looking at about 4,500. 5,000 if it was immaculate. I just got my 02 cummins and I love it! Ive never been so happy when I drove a truck(one I could afford anyway lol)

My kota, in the background is the massive trailer, 8k dry. I have pulled it twice with the dakota to the dump station, flat ground was ok, hills just were killer, and idaho is really hilly.

And ya, gotta love the cummins, the 99 seemed good but I decided to just go all out and look for a 2000 quad cab long bed 5 speed. Might as well get the manual since im planning on putting all the money i sell my dakota for into a chip, injectors, exhaust, clutch, and twins.

98.5-02 was all the same so it is all the same. If you plan on doing a lot of towing the 6 speed is the way to go. The 5 speed you have to watch out with the 5th gear nut coming loose. Dont forget the most important thing before anything is lift pump before you start throwing power at it.

98.5-99 had a different dash then 00-02, also I would love the 6 sped but a major problem is the HO VP 44 (only way to get a 6 speed before common rail) is very limited, the SO is way more capable for fueling. And the HO systems are a b**** for chips, And ya I know a ton about cummins, im on cumminsforum "DieselGreg" Those lift pumps are disastrous, im going for a fass 150 or a airdog 150

The dashes were a little bit different. But not much, headlight switch mostly. And of the ho vs so both still have the vp 44 problems one is just a bit more prone to failin since it needs more fuel. What I have found so far just as many company's make the same programmer. It's just fuel and timing that's added
