Angry Well here we go again A/C fan

Ok today my A/C fan lost high speed and the next lower speed seems slower than it should be.

What is this? The blower motor or the fan resistor never had problems before don’t it just figure.

HOT HOT summer in Arizona is just around the bend already getting up to 88 this last week and a few 92 temps.

Damn these A/C problems never stop

it might be the ignition switch. i had a 1982 ram. same thing. there is a contact in the switch that carrys the current for the A/C system. i used a relay to go around the ignition switch. it is not easy but cheaper than buying ignition switches.

Unhappy First try tomorrow

First try tomorrow ordered a new resistor should arrive by noon I hope that fixes it I removed the cowl and wipers today and felt under at it and it was a bit warm to the touch not sure what that means it has been sitting for three hours should not be warm.

Well now I have an excuse to try and adjust my hood it has been popping up on the back end and the adjusting bolts are under the cowl so two birds in one toss.

I hope

I must admit these constant little fixes that keep popping up are starting to get to me.

Talking YEAAAA Good news

The problem turns out to be the dash fan speed switch now all I need to do is find a replacement the one rockauto.com shows is a slightly different one and its for a 2000 model they dont show one for my 1998 but they do show one in a 2000 model and the pic looks slightly different for $110

YES no need to remove my Dash this time that would suck.

Replaced the resistor pack and relay before I found out it was the switch but anyway what can you do.

i will if you need, mine are under the radio and go horizontal not vertical like yours. so yes, they are way different. see, my resister is under the glovebox and can be changed in a few minutes, thats why i asked where yours was.
