Default Long drive with a trailer. Problems?

I need to take a uhaul trailer down from Massachusetts to the west Virginia line. Fully loaded, it'll only be around 1200 pounds.

I bought a hitch receiver and the wiring. I have a 5 speed with the 3.21 axle ratio. Will I blow my transmission, or run into problems?

Shouldn't be any problems once you get through Hartford. I hate that part of the trip.

What engine? Year? 2 or 4wd? Cab style?

3.21 really isn't the best for towing. You may need to downshift a bit and use 4th up hills.

if you have time, do this. drop the trans pan take the fluid out. put it back to gather. then add rear end grease to the trany.. i know it sounds crazy, but it works. i know a guy with a race car with with tractor fluid in the trans.

There isn't a pan on the 5 speed and I wouldn't suggest using anything but synchromesh in these manual tranny's anyways.

I wouldn't worry about it at all just make sure you take it easy. I'd worry more about brakes than blowing up your transmission. It might not be that fun with the V6 and your rear end ratio but you should be fine.

You'll be fine.

I might put more weight in the bed instead of the trailer but it's not really that much weight.

Just keep the rpm's up a bit and use 4th more. You'll be fine.

Have a good trip.
