Angry Rats I forgot one thing

Rats I forgot one thing.

Buy new A/C Schrader valves and replace them also they tend to leak when old.

They have kits at all auto parts stores with new caps and the extractor to do the replacement with.

Default You dont want to damage your compressor do you

A/C Schrader valves are in two places only one is truly needed but you get two in the kit so you may as well replace both first one is in your low side port that you pump the Freon into the second in under or in you could say the high presser port sensor unscrew the sensor and there it is don’t force the new valves in be careful these things are soft aluminum you are screwing the new valves into.

Its best to remove the low side port assembly to change these out the O-ring kit has replacement seals in them so unbolt the thing off your compressor then change the Schrader valves.

Why you ask remove this part? Because you can drop small amounts of aluminum shavings down into the compressor just changing out the Schrader valves.

You dont want to damage your compressor do you?

mike was doing a bit of leak testing and heard my high side port hissing = leak! too much engine noise on the low side to tell if that one was, but here is what i all bought today for my a/c:

1.) 22.00 Accumulator
2.) 32.00 A line with the orifice tube already in it
3.) 9.00 O-Ring Kit
4.) 15.00 Schrader Valve Kit

came out to about 88.00 with shipping. freon will be about 50.00 compared to spending 500.00+ at a a/c shop, plus i get the learning experience of this. hopefully replacing these parts will be preventative maintenance and fix that pesky leak as well!

Exclamation

high side port hissing… if so the Schrader valve kit doesn’t include the high side valve its very different and needs to be purchased also they are about $9 I got my high side valve at NAPA auto.

I dont think rockauto has the high side valve/port I have not seen it on the web site anyway.

That port takes extream pressure and Heat they are made very differently than the Schrader valves are.

So you are talking about this one pic included.

Talking Ok remove like this

Ok remove like this

The top is the removable part don’t try to put a wrench on the bottom of it to remove it only use a wrench on the top part that is the section that comes off.

It’s deceiving and looks like one piece but it’s not.

Yes they are different
