Default Half way through heater core swap.... need quick help

So i'm changing the core in my 2000 dakota. I have this vaccum line and I'm not sure where it came from its the black one shown in the pics.

I think i got it. The clip bolts to the heater core and the vaccum line passes through the firewall and connects to the T juction outside.

Default You should of

You should of taken pic's all the way through the compleat process of dash removal fixing it and putting it back together.

That would help soooo many of us that want to do this fix.

Its something I will do next winter no need for heat or A/C in Arizona perfect time to do it.

Take some pic's now please

Sorry bud I was already assembling everything. That's the easy part. the hard part is taking it all apart. If you google Dodge dakota heater core replacement someone already made a thread with pics.

It's really not as bad as it looks just time consuming. Took me dead on 10 hours and that was with people showing up and stopping to talk.

Thumbs up Yea ok just hoping

I have a few good forum how to with pic's but I think the one I have is not the best but good I will try to put together my own how to with a ton of picks next winter.

I understand taking photos while working can slow things down a bit.

What do you consider the hardest part of this?

Thanks

The hardest part was getting the dashboard back in and aligned because you need two people to do it. It just so heavy and long it's awkward. And it kept binding up on the wiring harnesses so it helps to have another guy for that part. He can hold it up in place while you feed the harnesses through. And trying to get some of the studs on the firewall to undo the HVAC box were tricky. They buried one behind the trans dipstick so i had to use a 7/16 box end wrench to get it.

I write you up a written step by step procedure if you want. Cause there are a few things I wish i would have know before hand like your going to need a roll of weatherstripping to put aroound the new heater core. Just weird things like that. I'll do it later.

If anyone else hass questions feel free to ask.
