Default no power when hot

Good morning everybody. new user here in Vegas and I need some help.
My son has a 97 or 99 dakota 4 banger with power problem.
Runs fine in cool weather but not now that it is hot here. Runs good at higher rpms and once going. Starting from a dead stop it misses and the more fuel you give it the more it bucks. The idle is very rough when it heats up but only in the summer. Complete tune up done and no codes.
It was hot yesterday and it took about 30 miles before it started acting up. Thanks for reading.

Cat maybe gone out? But usually it goes out regardless of temp.
BTW, welcome to DF.

Replaced the Air Filter recently? Last time you've done a tune up? Clean the IAC or replace?

Define "complete tuneup?"

Did you replace the wires? They can break down from the heat. It may also be the coil failing? Usually, not always, electrical parts break down when hot.

Thanks for the help.
Tune up was plugs, wires, oil change and air filter. No known previous problems.
I am thinking coil is bad.
