Tires...
Right now I have 225/70/r15 tires on my Dakota, but they are bald...next to no tread left. I was looking at some tire shops and I'm looking at at least $125 a tire...I'm a college kid, so I looked online and found 4 225/70/r15 general grabbers with 3000 mileson them for 260 bucks. Good deal? I'll be able to just bring the, and my truck to a shop and get them put on right?
What do you guys pay for tires?

I bought a set of BFG Long Trail T/A Tour, 235/75R15's in Feb. 2011. They have been a great tire, super quiet, run smooth with a quality ride and handle like a dream. I had a $40.00 off a set of 4 tires and paid $474.00 mounted and balanced, out the door. I did not buy the road hazard protection though. If I get a flat I will deal with it then. I don't know if they have Tire Kingdom where you are located, but I got my tires at Tire Kingdom here in Florida. NTB is also a Tire Kingdom store, one of them owns the other, I think.
The Grabber is a good tire, a lot of people like it, but persoanlly I think you could do better on the price. Plus with used tires you have to pay the shop to mount and balance. If it were me I would shop around. Discount Tire usually has good prices too, if you have one in your area. Maybe check online, at least read the reviews on www.tirerack.com before you buy. You can probably find a better deal than some skinny 225's for $260.00.

Maybe
I don’t know what kind of driving you go through like snow but I put a set of Wal-Mart tires on my truck and they have been good to me they are by (Goodyear) called tracker 2 at $65 a tire but that was three years ago they may be higher now.
Only thing I don’t like about them is they slip on wet roads more than I like on the rear but that is a common problem with all trucks unless you are lugging something around in the truck that gives it traction.

like said above, check the DOT # on the tires which indicates the age. you dont want to run anything that is more that six years old, and once a tire hits 10 years old it is determined to be unsafe to service by tire industry standards. also, DONT buy retreads. they are cheap and unsafe, and if you look at that website, you can buy new tires in a 235/75-15 for about the same price as a retread. just something that i would NEVER put on my vehicle from a safety standpoint, ill spend a little more to be safe. plus i dont want a bfgoodrich sidewall and goodyear tread pattern. ghetto...
