Backfire from Hell (video) - FIXED
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ls5_6...ature=youtu.be
This is my truck - it's starting to drive me nuts.
Listen from 3:00 - 3:12 and you can REALLY hear it.
Any idea whats happening?
Only codes are multiple misfires and cylinder 1 misfire.
FIX:
One upstream o2 sensor replaced - truck seems to run A LOT better now.

i didnt lesson to the video. but if its mine and none if the ignition parts have been checked lately. i would re place the plugs, wires , cap, rotor, ignition coil. open the plug gap to .01 in over stock. and plug the vent hole next to the center tower, i have been plugin the vent for 5-6 years, you dont need THAT big if a vent

I have the exact same problem with my truck. it is also an 02 with the 3.9, but i have a 5 speed manual.
Its very intermittent for me, i can go a week without hearing it, then it will come up.
Usually when it starts i just drop it down a gear and it goes away, any thoughts, would like to get it fixed before it becomes worse.

sounds the same
Sounds the same as when my computer went out not sure how you test that? that is the one thing I paid a shop to do for me.
What sucked was the new one burned out in two weeks but it was MOPAR so they replaced it for free.
But MOPAR was $1K OUCH That Hurt.

The 02 sensors would cause a rich situation. I don't believe that would cause a misfire.
It could be bad gas too.
How about the EGR valve? When was that replaced last? A leaking EGR can cause a lean condition thus the backfire under acceleration. You can either clean it and see if it betters it or replace it.
Also another ideao is the injectr on one could be bad, and a quick easy diagnostic would be switch the injectors around and see if the misfire follows, or use a scan tool to read its values, or do a pressure drop test if you have a fuel pressure guage... hell the fuel pressure regulator could be going bad, but I think that would almost make a more drastic issue.
