There is one relay on a 2000 for the blower. 2 fuses control the blower as well. A 40 amp in the PDC and a 10 amp in the fuse/relay block.

 

All working now!! Thank you very much for the assisst. I've worked on vehicle for many years. It's been sometime since I've owned a Mopar, ('(1 New Yorker). Currently, feeling pretty stupid.....issue was blown fuse in PDC. On the up side, new resistor and relay. Again, thx guys

 

OK...I read that it only take 15 minutes to replace the resistor module on my 2002 Dakota SLT maybe less than that once you remove the cowling and blower motor to find out what the cause of the motor not working. I am still sore and in 100 degrees plus and hi humidity plus the appropriate words (Must have taken two hours to remove 7 screws)....The connectors have a special locking tab that was difficult to remove upside down....can barely get two hands on it.....the real problem is that there is no room to get a wrench or socket or nut driver on two screws.... the motor resistor was the problem, $18.57) and the install went faster than I expected. FYI...my relacement resistor module had extra tabs around the mounting holes and if you don't remove them you will never get the d..n thing mounted (now how do you think I found this out?) but, you cannot live w/o AC in Phoenix.

 

Is the Blower Motor resistor located inside the vehicle under the dash or outside under the cowl grillwork

 

1996 to 2000 its under the cowl after that its in the cab so look their first

If its under the dash does it require removing the heater assy.

Ok this is how to tell is your heater controller horizontal or vertical horizontal its up under the dash

 

I have finally located and replaced the resistor.I removed the cowl grillework under the hood inserted a mirror in the opening and found the resistor mounted there with two 5/16" screws.I removed the screws(not an easy task)pulled the resistor out.Gently tug on the wiring harness to get some slack push tab in on plug and remove resistor from harness.
