Default Ac condenser removal

I hit a deer the other day day and the deer ended up going under the truck and broke the ac condenser, bumper, and the splash guards. Problem is that I can get the ac lines apart that connect to the ac condenser. The one coming threw the tar paper just won't release but the other one I can pop apart. Any advice ? I bought the one tool with the plastic pieces and it just won't loosen the ac line coming threw the tar paper. Help

If you have not done so do this cut the condenser lines just behind the fitting cut the damage condenser side that may free it up. About 6 in. back should do

Did the system pop open and all the Freon is gone if not you need to do that first before you start cutting things

If the condenser is a goner like I think cutting it up is fine

even is i cut the line in front of the fitting i still have to get that fitting apart to replace the condenser. Now to remove one from the junkyard its fine to cut it behing it and then figure out how to get it apart but on my own vehicle I have to be able to get it apart to replace it.

Yes but it’s probably just jammed up after cutting it this should reduce any tension on it and hopefully allow you to un hook the connection

Plus after its cut free you can now twist the connection this may help get it apart

So cut it then disconnect it get it.

Those pop fittings can be hard to disconnect use some muscle man push in hard

You need to add about 1.5 ounces of oil for the condenser.

I wouldn't use heat. Try pushing the fittings together before using the tool in case the spring is binding.

Are you sure the system is empty? It can be harder if it's still under pressure.

Default Understandable

Understandable

Will they twist now that they were cut off?

Did you spray any WD40 into the joint?

Some heat may be ok just not too much.

I’m wondering if you or someone put some of that stop leak in the system that could glue it up and may be what’s going on those two joints are the ones that like to leak in the system the leak stop is like glue were the leak was.

So what Im saying is the leak stop has glued up the joint and hardened like a rock it may be glued all around the spring not letting it move even a fraction.

Thats what the tool does it pushes the spring open and out of the way so the joint can be opened.

I cant find anything on the internet on how this stuff is removed after it hardens.

Oh by the way if thats what has happened you may have a bigger problem that stuff stays in a liquid form if not exposed to air but as soon as its exposed to air it starts to harden like a rock and your sysetm is now open to the air.

I would make sure system is empty. There could be a lot of built up pressure in there even if system has a small amount of Freon in there.

so i should add 1.5 oz of oil to the condenser. Just dump it down the tube I assume. Now its from the junk yard so I assume it still has some inside of it. Still 1.5 oz?
