With the fuse out, the dome light comes on when I rotate the headlight switch as if I was turning the dimmers up on the dash. Headlights and parking lights operate normally with #5 fuse pulled out. Headlights and parking lights operate normally.

Here is what I have. Sorry, not stocked with tools.

On the fuse, we're isolating the feed for the lights from the headlamp switch.

The dome light does not come on when the doors, either one, are opened.

No problem with a test light to check the door switches. Disconnect the CTM then reconnect power.

Clip one end to a 12 volt source, Pin 18 (solid red no tracer on the CTM connector is fused from the battery) touch the probe to ground and it should light. So, touching the contacts on the CTM connector, the HARNESS SIDE, with the doors open, should make it light.

Be careful.

Okay - I need to get to the CTM. I have the glove box out and will go pull the CTM with the battery disconnected. Once I have it out, clip the tester to the red wire and touch the probe to any ground and it will light the tester? Then leaving the clip on the red wire, touch the probe to #1 or #2?
Sorry, computer geek here, but auto mchanic/electrician not.

I did post the connector info for you on the other post.

I think I am getting close to saying I am officially in over my head. I loosened the 3 screws that hold the CTM backet in place but cannot get past other support pieces. I am working around the airbag, which may or may not be my best situation. I can get the bezzel off around the instrument cluster, the glove box is dangling (can't get it all the way off) and I don't know how to get the piece of dash off that hides the CTM.

Urf...

No worries.

I'd have a hard time believing that both of the door switches failed at the same time, especially when all you did was change the radio when this all started.

Pull the radio out, disconnect it, then check the operation of the lights.

I got the CTM - I was missing a screw on the bottom of the support. I pulled the plug, found #18 red. How do I clamp to it - insert the clip into the plug??
First, I'll plug the CTM back in, take out the radio and reconnect the battery and check the operation of the lights.
