2000 Sport 2.5 - how do I access spark plug #1
Morning stretches a good 1/2 hour every morning helps keep the old body monster at Bay and a 1/2 hour walk is nice.
I don’t think just checking the grounds will call for disconnecting the battery.
Well maybe you should just to be safe

Well, good Sunday afternoon -
I pulled the plastic panels off both passenger and driver side, the ground wires were very well connected - 2 wires connected on the passenger side, one on the driver side. I tried to feel my way up to where the wires come from the door into the body and they seemed solid enough. I even wiggled them around hoping to see the dome light come on with the door ajar. I pulled the radio out to make sure nothing came loose beehind there and all appeared good. Soory to say nothing has worked to this point. I still turn the headlight dial and the dome light comes on at the first click, where the instrument cluster begins to increase in intensity.
Any other direction to go?
Again, I can't thank you enough for the help.

As another thought about the purpose of the CTM, taken from the service manual:
The base version of the CTM is
used on base models of the vehicle. The base version
of the CTM combines the functions of a chime/buzzer
module and an intermittent wipe module into a single
unit. The base CTM also uses inputs from the
door ajar switches, the headlamp switch and the
key-in ignition switch to control the output to the
dome lamp circuits, which allows the base CTM to
provide load shedding to help protect the battery
from becoming discharged.
The intermittent wipers work okay;
the chime that the door is open works okay;
the chime to alert me that the key is still in the ignition works okay.

Holy crap, man - that's pretty! I really want to power wash my engine but don't have a cover for the PCM and worry about water getting in to places it should not be. But, dang, that's sweet.
