I wish I was a kid with a dad waiting to give me his R/T Dakota!!

Your problem could be the speed/abs sensor over the rear differential. Does the speedometer work correctly?

Check for codes. If it is the speed sensor it should throw a code, P0500.

Yes it does run. Starts right up, and goes into an idle. I need to drive it but the back of it is used for storage at the moment. The battery was allowed to die once, and was replaced with new, I let it get real low would not start. jumped it with extra battery, had trouble idelin. I unhooked the battery put it on charge to full capacity then hooked it up. She fires right up goes into choke mode, and runs until warm ,and idles perfect. I think allowing the battery to go caused this. Than you for your help.

Thanks for all the help. It does run. As long as it has been sittin in its house. I did let the original battery die, and I bought a new one, and I did let it get low twice. Charged it up put the wires back on. She cranks right up but the lights stay on. Maybe I should get some ins on it, and take it on a 100 mile sprint? Thanks to all of you.
