Ok so ive searched everywhere for this, cant find exactly what im dealing with. ive got a roaring coming from my front end, seems to be coming from the right side, and ive replace everything rotating. ive replaced, the tire and the hub assembly. The sound starts at 20mph on, sounds like i have mud tires on it. i can drive with the right side of the truck off the road and it doesnt seem to to make the noise, i can turn left while driving and it stops, theres a really slight vibration in the steering wheel but nothing crazy. ive run out of ideas!!! BTW its a 99 reg cab R/T w/ manual trans 2X4.
Both hubs have been replaced, the right was replaced last week trying to fix this, and the left was replaced about 7 months ago. they both feel fine, no play.
If it only happens with it moving, it has to be a hub. There is nothing else in the front end on a 4x2 that moves. You may not have play in a bad hub, unless its really bad.
Try swapping tires L-R or front-back and see if it follows.
well i just replaced the right hub, and i replaced the left a few months back, are the hubs really known for going bad in a few months? and its nothing in the engine or drivetrain, ive jacked it up and run the truck to 60 mph and its quiet as a mouse. only thing i havent done is move the left front wheel to the back.
