I've been thinking of doing the same thing. Check out Belltech. They make a lowering kit for our daks.

You're talking about a C notch. That's for people who slam their trucks. Are thinking of slamming your truck? If that's the case you'd probably want to go to a different forum like customdakotas. this forum is great but i dont see very many people lower their dak here.

If your looking for a fairly cheap option, you could do lowering blocks in the back, and could go the correct route and buy 2" drop spindles for the front, or you could cut the coil springs and try to get that 2" drop.

You can get shorter coil springs and softer leaf springs. if ride quality is an issue then buy a lowering kit, it comes with everything you need including shocks.

So I have decides that I am going to do a 3/2 drop. By putting 3'' clocks in the back and getting 2'' drop springs in the front. I just need to know if I need to put in new shocks or will the factory ones still work? Any info???
