my 2001 dak factory paper service manual. a 4.7L V-8 engine, primary resistance 70-80 deg F, 0.6-0.9 Ohms,,,,secondary res same F 6,000-9,000 Ohms. except 4.7L diamond primary res 70-80 deg F 0.97-1.18 Ohms, secondary res same F 11,300-15,300 Ohms. toyodenso same F primary res 0.95-1.20 Ohms , secondary res 11.300-13,000 Ohms. spark plug cable resistance min 250 Ohms per inch, ,,,,,max 1,000 Ohms per inch. minimum 3000 Ohms per foot,,,,,-max 12,000 Ohms per foot

What do you mean "one way it's good other it's bad ???"
Looking at the wiring diagrams, Dark Green with orange tracer is pin #1 and the black with gray tracer wire is Pin #2.
Measuring across pins 1 and 2 is the primary coil.
Measuring from pin 1 to the high tension lead is the secondary.
If you're measuring from pin 2 to the high tension lead you'll have an incorrect reading.

ask your parts man to show you each one. one at a time. and check the Ohms there, if he doesnt mind. just an other crazy idea from an old crazy man. the Ohms under 1.0 Ohms might be hard to see on some meters. a really good meter might be needed. i have a few real low end meters from HF. they are ok for some things, but not others. double check by useing some resistors from RS, the card is marked, but dont mix them up, after you take them out of the card, ie only remove one at a time.
