1) Spray. Unless you don't really care about it, then roll on.

2) Up to you.

3)Definately clear coat.

4)Always sand down after apply primer. Then reprime, and sand using a higher grit.

To repaint an entire truck is gonna be price and VERY time consuming. Make sure you do this in a clean garage with no wind. Plenty of vids on youtube on how to do it just watch a few.

ya i know it is going to be time consuming but it beats paying thousands to take it somewhere to get it done.

Oh yeah no doubt.

Just don't expect it to be perfect, and you're gonna get ALOT of orange peel, but just went sand and buff when done and then you can decide if its good or if you're gonna wanna repaint.

I have repainted the fenders on my grand prix and I really recommend making sure you edge off your paint. (Make sure that when you hit the edges you try to get the paint as even as possible so it doesn't peel off and chip.

I would practice on a piece of metal before you touch your truck.

I just painted my hood. Black. Used dupiplicolor paint shop paint. I put plastic sheeting on all for sides of the garage. Wet the floor. Used a box fan to draw the air out of the garage while painti g. Primer three coats. Jet black three coats. 4 coats of. Clear. D Aed the hood witb 400 grit. Block sanded the primer with 600. Waited 8 days to sand the primer. Waited another week to wet sand the clear with 1000 grit. Then, 1500, then 2000. Now came the buffing. And then polishing looks perfect... until you get to the 50 cent size area i buffed thru! Gotta resand. Paint. Reclear with a special additive mixed with the. Clear so it will blend in with the rest. Sucks. Looks good but it takes a whole lot of time. Goob luck.

Never put clear on top of clear.

He wet sanded it with 1000 (I would've used 2000 but thats my opinion) which means it wouldn't have gone through the clear completely, it'll scuff it up but not go through.

From there you just buff until you get that nice gloss.

I don't have a real good paint gun so 1000. 1500. 2000 was the only way for me to cut the imperfections down to level to buff. What im really saying is lts gonna take a lot of cash to paint. Your investment in the tools and everything that goes with it isnt worth it if your gonna only do it once. I had 4 thick coats of clear because i knew i would be sanding more than i should. You can clear over clear but u have touse a additive to the clear. I just cant think of the name of it. If j was gonna do it just once I would just pay someone else to do it. My op.
