You have to fix whatever is causing the ABS light to remain on.

Did you replace the caliper/wheel cylinders and need to bleed the system? Assuming the basic brake system is in good shape it's probably an ABS issue. Could be a speed sensor.

You need a special scan tool to read the ABS computer codes or a DRB at the dealer. A regular code reader won't do it.

Have you looked at your rear differential oil at all is it low or have you ever replaced the oil?

This may be a good idea.

Is there any way to check the sencors? OHM meter?? Yes the breaks have been bleed All parts are new(not sencors) those will cost close to $80. so don't want to just through parts at it
Thanks Charlie

All you can do is establish continuity.

Is it 4 wheel or rear wheel ABS? If 4 wheel, check the wiring harnesses from the hubs. The rear wheel sensor may be on your differential. It is in later years, I'm not familiar enough with a '98 to say for sure.

I know it may seem like a waste of money to get it read. But it is by far the easiest solution. You'll know exactly what is wrong with it and won't have to throw parts at it. Some brake shops can do it, the dealer definitely can.

I had the same problem with mine. I "fixed" it by disconnecting the ABS module. Obviously, I'm not going to advise anybody to disable their antilock brakes, but it did make the light go out and I haven't suffered any ill effects in the year since I did it. YMMV.

Rear ABS sensor should read between 1500-2500 when you ohm it.Don,t know about trans sensor.
I am in the process of repairing mine now.Checking cab unit tonight. Will let you know.Chooper2

also check to make sure you don't have a leak or a lot of air in the line as it will cause the combination valve to slide one way or the other causing both lights to come on and remain on. the combination valve shifts front or back to close off whatever side is leaking front or backs to insure you will have some breaking ability if you get a system leak
