Default Tuners: SCT Hemifever VS. ?

I know that the Hemifever tune is the undisputed king when it comes to power, but could some people that have had the other's please chime in on the model of your tuner, the power difference, and most importantly, the fuel mileage difference.

Yes, I know trucks don't get good gas mileage. Thanks!

Depends on your motor and trans.

I know an auto 5.2/5.9 is where you will see the most gains. I had a Superchips tuner and it really made a marginal difference. Didn't really see a difference in power or gas mileage with the 91/93 tune. So I ended up selling it.

Realistically, you won't see a large enough difference in fuel economy to pay for the tuner, so it's not really worth it for fuel mileage. I've heard people say tuners make a big difference with the 5.2/5.9s and automatic transmissions but mine being a 4.7 manual, I saw no difference really.

Could you change the shift points and torque converter lockup on the Superchips? I'm looking to get my transmission to work with my driving habits a little better.

not with superchips. superchips is essentially for the person that has a CAI and headers.

i'm going with Megasquirt on my awd 5.9 auto. it completely changes the feel of the truck.

couple guys are working on the trans setup now, since the their trans is still being run by Jtec

So i have no options to manually set shift points? I want to keep my truck out of overdrive more.

I dont think thats possible unless you do some tranny work. With my sct under wot it moved my shift point from 4,800 to 5,200. Which made a big difference.

As far as I know, no tuner can move shift points on our trucks. MAYBE the 545RFE can change points, not sure which tuner could do it though. I know the 4*RH/RE are fixed shift.

On my V6, I picked up several tenths of a second from stock to a 93 tune SCT in the 1/8 mile.

As I stated in my previous post, I don't think the 4.7 really benefits from a tuner. I saw VERY minimal difference, if any, with a 93 octane tune...

well, a couple of guys that are running MS are working on taking over the trans control as well.

but you can raise the shift point, i know there are guys running up to 6000 and 6500 rpm, but even then... you gotta play with it. the tune might say 6700, but it really shifts around 6500. it's not totally... exact.
