Default need storage ideas

i need some different tool storage ideas. i don't really want a standard truck tool box because with the quad cab it already has a small enough bed. i have a 2000 artic cat 250 4wheeler that barly fits in the bed as it is. now that the twins are almost a year the car seats are getting bigger and i need the room in the back seats so my tools got to go somewhere else. if nothing else presents itself i will be stuck buying a truck box. and rigging something to haul the 4wheeler.

How about some storage boxes that fit on the side of the bed.Have you look at any off road sites? May something there. They are always coming up with ideas to store & carry all kinds of gear.

Most of the atvs fit between the wheel wells(which you have a small cat so should) I would look into those side tool boxes. What about under the rear seats? How much stuff do you have to store?

I've got a buddy that has a 2000 silverado 1500 z71 4x4. Reg cab 5.3. He's got a Polaris 500 utility quad and with his short bed he doesn't have much room after. He built an 8" wooden box that spanned the whole floor of the bed. Two drawers by the tailgate to pull out and flaps by the cab to lift and drop things in. He built strong enough so he could actually drove the quad and park it on top of the box. The box was heavy for regular driving around but it worked good. Just a possible idea to save you room and still be able to haul the 250.

i'm guessing with the wheel well boxes i would have to remove my bedliner? also can't do storage under the rear seats because baby seats are going there and pain to take them in and out. also not a whole lot of room under the seats anyways.

I was looking at the bed-liner thing too. Have to call them or wait for anyone on here with the experience. As with every challenge, nothing is impossible!

Side note: not a lot of room under the seats in back, but I also fit my hitch-sleeve with ball behind the drivers-side rear seat. Have to lift the seat, then wiggle back there. Won't work for you with the baby-seats, just sharing information.

Take out that drop in liner and herculiner it it. Those drop ins are only good for creating rust. Should of saw the big hole in my dakota bed cause the p.o never took out the liner.

I agree. I have the Line-x, our old ram had the Rhino, our new ram isn't marked.

Oh boy, purchased my truck with the liner in it (and hard cover over that). I guess I should take it and inspect... replace liner if there's a hole, coat it if there isn't.

Thanks!
