Will getting rid of resonator's affect anything?

Default Will getting rid of resonator's affect anything?

hey ive seen a bunch of you tube vids of 4.7's getting the resonators deleted and they make the truck actually sound alot more throtty and beefy im wonding does that affect anything.. im not worried about gas cause i get 7mpg city and 11 highway so .. all smiles per galon

What resonator?

There is a muffler, a catalytic converter, and you might have "Pre-cats" if you have CA emissions.

im going off of youtube vids they say get rid of the resonator so im going to assume catalytic converter

Do you have emissions testing?

You'll have to do something about the O2 sensors.

I'm not sure if you'll have a CEL. Hopefully someone else knows.

What I see people do when they perform a cat-delete, is to put a spacer in the O2 bung, and move the O2 sensors about 1" out of the air stream. It's close enough to still get it warmed up, far enough that it won't pick up on the gasses as much.

only in big city like vancouver and i think the island but were i live u dont need it other then that yea its a hard *** province

On 4.7 should have 3.1 to each side and 1 back before muffler. Heard of folks taken them out and just gutted them put them back in.
