Hi,

If it is worn rings then no chemical will help. But, you really aren't using any significant oil. Even 1 quart in 1000 miles is considered normal by some car makers

How is the compression? When's the last time you replaced the plugs or air filter? Have the cats every been changed? They do not last forever and can cause a restriction in the exhaust. How about the 02 sensors? They also don't last, they can get lazy, and then the air fuel ratio can be a bit off.

O 2 sensors have been changed less then 15000 on them, plugs are due for new ones,, i do take them out about every 6 months and check them,, air filter is good, i change it every third oil change, new one due on next change. what do you mean by the cats?? Catalytic Converter? thinking it was changed about 80000 miles ago
Not sure about the compression, going to say not bad i do notices loose of power. that's why am thinking rings.. my PVC senser is due for a change after the first of the month

cats - catalytic converter(s). Depending upon what emissions package you have you may have have one or three (two pre-cats).

Increased backpressure will kill performance.

I would look at the cats first also if never replaced

Have you ever had your fuel injectors hard cleaned either in the engine or bench cleaned some companys can run a very strong cleaner through the injectors and clean them or remove them and clean and adjust them this is the best way I think it runs about $80 to $120.

But make sure that they are doing a hard clean not just dumping something in the gas tank its a special cleaner they bypass the gas tank and directly connect to the fuel rail to clean them so be sure you are getting the real deal.

A vacuum gauge can be used to diagnose an exhaust obstruction. It will also tell you the overall "health" of the engine.

get some Marvel Mystrey Oil. it will clean the engine and seal the rings, it takes a while.
