I really like the stock shocks in my Rubicon - on and off-road, and if/when I need to replace them I’ll just get the same ones.

In the truck I notice a lot of bounce when I’m stopping and I see leaking, so it’s time for new ones. The stock ones may have been OK, but I’ve never felt them.

I see Amazon has the Reflex for $38 and $39 a piece, which seems like a good price. I’m not sure that they will take them back for free (I know if they’re defective they’ll let you return them and get new ones for free, but if you don’t like them it will cost you something).

I’ve heard good things about the Bilstein shocks too - they appear to be twice the cost of the Reflex shocks. I’m willing to pay the extra if they’re a lot better, but like it’s already been said, you won’t know until you try them.

I currently have KYB gas-a-just shocks and they ride pretty good. I had Bilsteins on my Titan and they were fantastic. I should have bought them for my Dak instead of the KYB's.

I'm going to give the Reflex shocks a shot. I'll report back after I get and install them.

I like the Monroe Sensa-trac load adjusting shocks. I don't have them on my Dak yet but other vehicles have them. Go to Rock Auto if you get these they have great prices on them.

Thanks, but I ordered the Reflex yesterday. Guess I'll see how they work out...

I'll save the RockAuto link though, thanks.

End of story. I have them on my 4X4 and they kick serious butt. I have beat the crap out of them off road, and they were begging for more. On road is just as good.

Also what I installed. They've done pretty good!

Also, you might want to check you diff before you do this. I bought these shocks, suspecting that the "sway" I was getting was from a bad OEM shock but it turned out that the clip for my LSD clutches had come loose. It mimicks the symptoms of bad shocks...

I installed them today.

The old ones were pretty weak - especially the front ones. Also the passenger side front had a noticeable "flat spot" in it.

The new ones improved cornering, when stopping reduced bouncing, and there's a noticeable difference (mainly in the rear) going over speed bumps.
