Default 2002 dakota sport trans issue

i just bough a 2002 dakota sport 4x4 3.9 auto (150K miles)
the problem is consistant, the trans just seem to be real sluggish under any type of acceleration te engine i just did new plugs cap rotor no other modes
the trans fluid is a brownish color Not red . ill be dropping the pan today (weather permitting lol)


shifts really poor as well
any help will be great

ask any ?s ill try to answer them

Drop pan and replace filter like you planned. Do not flush.

Go from there... my 42re is sluggish too. Only 60k on mine too!

Cause it can easily kill a tranny that's already shifting poorly, has high mileage, and has bad fluid.

Speaking from experience too.

OK, I didn't know you were only talking about bad transmissions. I have mine done, and do it on a regular basis, but the transmission is shifting fine, and the fluid is good.

well guys the transfercase went last night now there is a broken gear noise comeing from the truck and its shifting at real high rpms im getting a little annoyed with this truck i just bought it and im haveing more problems everyday

so the noise was the front shaft but im going to replace the transfer case and trans axles drive shafts and anything to do with the drive train , its a good thing i work for the largest salvage yard in the east coast

well i did some investagateing about the noise the prop shaft bearing gave out so ordering that up today for now i just removed the shaft till the bearing gets here the back to the mudd!!!
