Guage cluster calibration
Okay guys like a dumbass i did some guage work this weekend and pulled off my indication markers without marking their location now my engine temp and fuel are off. Hows the best way to calibrate them back into stock location?
Try a cluster self test. It will sweep the gauges and they'll stop at specific locations.
Key off. Press and hold the trip reset button. While holding, turn the key on - not start. Hold for about 10 seconds until CHEC shows in the odometer window. It'll test the lights and sweep gauges.

~Easily amused~
From the FSM:
The instrument cluster will perform a gauge actuator test. In this test the instrument cluster circuitry positions each of the gauge needles at three different calibration points, then returns the gauge needles to their relaxed positions.

In addition to this, I had an " ah ha" moment.
For reasons, I needed to remove my needles. I was super careful in marking and putting back on. Did the guage test, lo and behold I was way off on all of them.
my " ah ha" was to take the needles off again, run the guage test with the off, theoretically reseting the pins.
in a previous video i watched on a repair, the tech replaced the needles with the tip " on top of the stops, a hair down, then carefully pushed into rest postion".
so I did that after the guage test, and I was good to go.
With the exception of the rpm needle; That one remained 1 to 2 notches off. So I pushed on the pin with the needle already in rest, not on the stop, and ran the guage test.
everything looks like it is testing properly.
