The bad news is that it is unlikely that it is the sensor or the harness. If it fails then there is no signal, the speedo should read 0, not 200. Basically it would be the same as if the truck isn't moving.

The rear speed sensor feeds into the CAB, controller anti-lock brake. From there it goes to the PCM and the cluster.

I don't want you to throw parts at this by replacing a speed sensor that may not be faulty.
so this is whats going on. my abs control unit was making this awful noise, so i unplugged it...i never really like abs anyways. I bet right now you're thinking "what an idiot!" so my question, which harness needs to be plugged in for the speedo? the smaller one on the left, the larger on the right, or both? and if you could tell me what the eff is going on with the control unit too thatd be great

You need both. The small connector is the two front speed sensors only. The back is the rear - and the power.

There are relays in the CAB that powers the hydraulic pump. That's what you're hearing. Sometimes the relays fail. The CAB can be rebuilt. If you replace it you need to have it programmed to match your rear axle.

You could try pulling the 40 amp fuse in the PDC. It should stop the pump. I don't know if it'll fix the speedo though.

I've seen prices from about $100 to 150 for the rebuild. Only the controller, the box with the connectors needs to be repaired, not the part with the hydraulic lines.

Ask and ye shall receive. I've attached the PDC (under the hood) diagram.

Pulling the fuse helped in both cases! Thanks so much!
