Default truck is dying in two different situations

If i have to stop suddenly and slam on my breaks it will stall and if i go from reverse to drive and stop real fast then try to shift into drive it will stall and die. Now could that be something with the breaks and sensor readings because my back breaks need to be changed and serviced, or am i way off. Plus my throttle cable seems to have enough wear to it that sometimes it goes like it should n sometimes i have to mashed on the gas to get it to get up and go

I can't remember the name of it, but there is a sensor in the transmission that release it under hard braking. I'm bumping up the thread so you can get an answer. You seem to have it worse then my truck does. But we might have the same problem.

check your transmission fluid. Both of your issues are related- the Throttle Valve is not redirecting fluid to cause a downshift and you are not getting enough slip under decel to disengage the driveline.

That's my hypothesis.

Low transmission fluid causes the torque converter to stay in lock-up mode and can cause both those problems.

Then it could be clogged filters causing the same problem.

Pan drop and filter change shouldn't be a problem.

If you were to flush it then you may encounter some issues. I know I have but others say its fine. I don't trust it anymore tho.

Ok is the only way to drain the fluid by taking the pan off because i don't visibly notice a drain plug. And you say flushing is usually what causes problems in my situation. Yet what i was taught is just putting new fluid causes old build up to break loose because tranny fluid is like a cleaning agent in a way

No drain plug, gotta drain it by pulling The pan.

Flushing it is more likely to dislodge crud over just dropping the pan.

In your case you might just be best to top it up if low and hope for the best.
