Default AC Compressor isuues

I have a strange problem, after my truck sits for say around 30+ minutes and I start it up, turn the ac on, it makes a weird vibrating noise and will spray a burst of Freon out of the input/output hose connection, then maybe one more time real lightly, then run "OK" I say ok because it only cools to about 50ish, pressure is at aprox 35-40PSI at 90 degrees outside.

Im at either a new compressor and or the o-ring seal at the lines going into the compressor.

Any ideas or help??

Did you just fill it up?

If so you over filled it or you have a bad compressor or an obstruction in the system.

IDK if its overfilled, the pressure is right for the temp.

It never kicks the high pressure switch.

I guess I could let it all out and then charge it to the weight according to the sticker

Remember the listed settings are a range you don't want to go to the extreme of the range about mid range is best. Less is better in the A/C system don't max it out thinking more is better its not.

Your system is evacuating the excess from your system from what you listed as a problem if I say if that is the problem or you have a blockage or bad compressor.

Don't max it out thinking more is better its not

I'll throw this out there, you might be having liquid refrigerant in the compressor input - hydro locking the compressor. It would explain the funny noise and the venting of refrigerant.

I think you're overcharged but it could be a problem with the accumulator. It's supposed to remain in the accumulator.

It could also be an orifice tube problem.

Can you post the high and low pressures? Just the one is almost useless.

Usually if the compressor is venting the problem is more likely on the high side because it only vents if the pressure is too high or you over charged the system or a blockage ie condenser orifice tube anything past that is considered the low pressure side.

My Dakota did the same exact thing I accidently overcharged it and it ran weird and vented.

That is what happens when you over charge the system

By the way if it vents you have a very high potential of damaging the compressor
