Default p1389 after head job????

So I had a seat fall in cyl 2, so I tore it down re-set the seat cleaned it up and through it back together. Now it will crank and idle until you give it any gas then it blows the 30amp engine fuse and through the 1389 any thoughts???

Welcome to the forum Josh.

What year is your 4.7?

Something is shorting out the ASD relay. Check the throttle cable and make sure that nothing is chaffing through a harness.

I'm with Dan, something is shorting out your ASD (Auto Shut Down) relay. It powers the fuel pump, ignition coil, O2's, and a bajillion other things.

Just for kicks, pull the O2 heater relay and see if that helps. It's also fed from the ASD relay.

waidasecond....

You pulled the multi-connector harness or the charging lug or both?

Either way, your alternator will not charge without everything plugged in...

Default the multi plug

One wire goes to the PCM the other to the evap thing under the battery. After doing some research I found that this is a problem with the new PCM's with the built in voltage regulators. My best guess the voltage regulator was letting to much by and causing a short. I found a site to convert back to external regulator and bypass the PCM to still charge the battery without cooking everything

Huh?

The voltage regulator has been in the PCM for years, no problems. You should have a check engine light on, P0562 for charging system voltage low.
