I have my son helping me today and everything is going really smooth. Whe we pulled the engine a week or so ago he removed this ground. Neither of us can remember where it goes. Any help out there?
Part number says 61789A and has rubber coating rather than looking like a normal ground.

Looks like one I found not connected and never could figure were it connected but everything works so no biggy.

If everything works don't worry about it I'm sure its an engine ground strap from the firewall to block usually connected to one of the valve cover bolts.

When I run the engine I get "Chirping" when it is at an idle. Doesnt do it when moving. I used a mechanics stethoscope and it is loudest at the belt tensioner assembly.

I was wondering if there is supposed to be grease behind the tensioner assembly when it is attached to the engine.

As far as I know you don't lube them in any way just replace them they are sealed units, it could be the Idler Pulley.

It may just go away in time just wait and see.

Like '98 says you don't grease the tensioner. If it is noisy replace it.

It could be an alignment issue or a belt making the noise too.

First off I wanted to thank all who provided guidance or their expertise. The beast is up and running pretty good. I got a couple of codes this week, P0300 (expected, I need new fuel injectors). P0152 (Expected, was present before the change)and P0442, which I think was the gas cap (it didnt come back). Took the belt tensioner off and replace both pulleys. Before i replace it i put a little grease on the back side. Quieted the belts down a lot. Bought a O2 sensor for that P0152 code but haven't put it on yet. I'm gonna wait and see if it throws that code again (before, it was the downstream, I read P0152 as the passenger side upstream) so i'll wait and see.

THANKS again.
