Unhappy Distressed Dodge Dakota owner.

Hey all, I'm Robert from Idaho and I have a 2002 Dodge Dakota SLT 5.9 liter 4x4. I love my truck and have only owned it for two years but now it sits parked because it will not pass air emissions, reason is the PCM/ECM has got a memory failure fault. I have searched everywhere including a rebuild site called "****uter.exchange.net" which took my money but didn't deliver. I really need help in fixing my baby so it can go hunting again it just doesnt seem right to leave him home. Part # is 56029353AC please help thank you

Very discouraging for sure. I went through the same thing with my PCM. I finally looked on ebay and found a used one but, it worked. Keep searching those sites, you might get lucky without breaking the bank for a PCM. I don't know what it is with the computers in these trucks but they have a hard time "rebuilding" them. It may show good on their equipment but they don't work in real life. I believe I found one that came out of a running truck with no codes, same engine and close options....took a chance...good luck to you.

Bullelk9, Welcome to the forum.

Try a boneyard. You might get lucky. Just match options.

Try here

http://www.quirkparts.com/dodge/dako...control-module

I think it still needs some programing with your current Dakota info like how many miles so its legal so a shop will need to install it.

Nampa is well.....still Nampa, and houses here are mostly made by cheap means of course(lol). We moved here from Boise and now I am questioning my thought processes. Its alright if you dont have young ones going to the public schools but still better than other cities or even some states for that matter. I've lived here all my life and raised my family here dont know if I would live anywhere else except Alaska or Montana. Thank you again for the link, I also found one that is used in Texas for 300 but it has a different part #, similar and meant for the same engine and transmission but its one of those "database salvage yard- might work, might not" scenario's,"naw-meen"? I'll add it up and decide by Monday i suppose, Take care my friend!
