Default 2000 dakota SLT 4.7 PCM swapping issue

hey guys

because it stalls randomly when driving
I just bought the new pcm for my dakota
from ebay thecompany called "flagship one inc."
I put my vin number whit the order
and the item delivered very fast
(My location is Taiwan)
I plugged the pcm, it stars for 2 sec then die at first time
then ... it didn't start anyway.

I swap the old one, it works normally
does anyone know what's the problem might be?
the vin# not programmed? mileage not matched?
international shipping costs money, and when thing go wrong just frustrated

can any one help?
and maybe other better pcm companies recommend
thanks

working on the return and refund right now

Welcome to the forum.

Sounds like the new PCM has security enabled on it. You can't disable it.

No, you usually have to specify on the order form if your truck has security or not, so the feature can be programmed into the PCM or removed as needed. It sounds like you have a non-security truck and were sent a security PCM.

very helpful ! I will check this with the dealer

is that the "trim" staff ?
I've read some articles , people were talking about
so the pcm company can program this (disable it)

is that mileage really matter or not?
vin# must be right ?! other wise . . . . ?
thank you

The way it usually works is that you provide the PCM company with your VIN and mileage.

They look up the options that the truck originally came with and program it - security enabled or not.

They also program the VIN and mileage.

Mileage won't really matter. It's stored in more than one location.

Pull up a build sheet. You can get it via this link:

cool
I just go through the list
there is nothing about security
only the "keyless entry" confused me

is the security would put the "security" on list
or I should looking for other Key-words

thanks

Is your key skinny and black or thick and gray/greenish color?
