Default 2002 Dak Interior Lights Oddity

Interior lights work fine with the exception of doors open, any door.
But, if I move the dimmer switch to top notch, then back to rest, the lights will come on with the door. Also, as I noticed this pattern, I believe 2nd notch no longer turns on interior lights unless I go top notch, rest, then to 2nd notch and lights come on.
Windows, locks, keyless, fogs, dash lights, all work fine.
Only thing else I can think of that doesnt work is the power mirror on driver side. All other controls on the panel works.
My symptoms dont match that of a failing CTM.
Thoughts???

check your door latches. sounds like it thinks a door is stuck open and is shutting down your interior lights to prevent draining battery. Or maybe a door switch(es) is stuck with the door closed.

top notch should be interior plus cargo light. Second notch should be interior on/override. Anything else should be dash dimmer and lights with doors. Bottom notch should be interior off and minimum cluster brightness.

Thanks, but I don't think you understand. The interior lights work great.
I can turn the wheel all the way up (interior lights on) and then back to normal (not override, but interior lights now off. Then lights work perfectly when I open the doors.

Also, new headlight switch, same result.

Also just realized the chime doesnt work either. And not just door (the cluster indicates door ajar btw) but for anything.

I still don't understand your question. What you have described is normal function, for lights to be off with doors closed and on with door open or override enabled.

Can you rephrase the question?

After you roll up and back on the switch how long does it take to reset back to the non functional state?

ive tried it a couple of times, but the dim timer takes a few. So i can only do it so many times before i get board lol
Ill see if it resets with keyless entry lock and unlock or if its the ignition

ok, seeing your video, it's definitely the CTM timing out in my opinion. Something it tripping it to make it think the door is still open or something. If not, that's bizarro
