Exclamation Seat Belt Dashboard Light '01 Dodge Dakota

My seat belt dashboard light blinks constantly, even when the seat belts are buckled.

Im not sure where to begin to fix this issue, assume there is a sensor that is malfunctioning. What should I do?

Check the wiring going to the seat belt latch under the seat. They can get cut by the seat track.

Thanks for the response jkeaton!

I looked and looked and looked and from what I can tell the wiring looks like its in good condition underneath the drivers seat.

Normally I would post a pic of what I was looking at but its an awfully hard place to get a good shot of.

Is there any other ideas anybody can think of?

Could be the latch itself. Worn out.

The seat belt switch is part of the latch. It could be worn/broken.

The light should go out when the switch is closed, to ground. The ground is located by the pillar to the drivers door. You could always disconnect the seat belt and connect the dark blue with red tracer wire to ground to test it. The light should remain out.
