Default Timing????

I have a 2004 Dodge dakota with a 4.7 in it about 6 months ago went to start it in the morning it wouldn't start, after a few cranks I started and ran very rough, it idles very rough for maybe 4 minutes then you have to rev it to keep it going, I've had a few people tell me it jumped timing, and others say to replace sensors. While I'm sitting there in park keeping it about 15hundred rpms and floor it it doesn't stumble it just picks up rpms, the throttle response is good, just won't stay running at idle and won't go past 4 thousand rpms it almost sounds like it has a rev limiter I am unsure about that. I already replaced the tps.

It could be anything. Bad spark plugs, weak fuel pump, bad aftermarket TPS, dirty IAC.

Any codes? You don't need a reader.

With the truck not running, turn the key to RUN, don't start it, back to OFF, then to RUN, back to OFF, then leave it in RUN. Any codes will display in the odometer window.

How's the fuel pressure? How's the battery? Dakota's hate a weak/low battery.

I haven't checked the fuel pressure but the spark plugs are good. It came up with one code p-0113, the battery is good i replaced it a few months ago. It happened over night I came home parked it no problems went to start it the next morning and it's had this problem ever since.

I haven't replaced that but reading up on it the iat sensor doesn't seem to cause problems like that

Need to put a gauge on it, and see what it has to say. Should be able to rent one from your local auto parts store.
