Speedometer stuck at 120.(2003 Dakota)
I have a 2003 Dakota. My truck over heated and I lost engine and electrical power, my speedometer shot up to 120 before dying. Opened up my hood and i noticed that i had a little water spray. I found where it was spraying from. I have to replace upper radiator hose. Checked my battery and it was shot. I put a new battery in it and it starts up. The Speedometer still stuck at 120. What do I need to check? How do I fix this?

Welcome to the forum.
The speedometer is electronic. The cluster controls it. You can do a self test on the cluster to see if there is a fault.
With the truck off, DEPRESS and HOLD down the reset button for the trip odometer. Keep holding the button and turn the key to RUN (don't start the truck). After about 10 seconds CHEC will appear in the odometer window. Release the reset button.
The cluster will test all the lights and the gauges will sweep.
You might see some 3 digit fault codes displayed. These are not P codes. For example, 999 means an error has been discovered.
If the test completes with no faults the odometer will return to normal.
